Chicken Broth Gravy - How to Make Gravy for Chicken Crepes
Want to learn how to make gravy? Try this easy and quick chicken broth gravy as a topping for your chicken crepes recipe.
You can get a head start on this recipe by using the herb and garlic-flavored pan drippings from our delicious Roast Whole Chicken Recipe.
It's not necessary, however, because our recipe relies on canned chicken broth for the bulk of the liquid. The final result is a golden gravy that is as delicious over mashed potatoes as it is over crepes!
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp of pan drippings from a roasted chicken, optional
- 1¼ cups chicken broth, divided
- ¼ cup of dry white wine
- 1½ tbsp of flour
- ¼ tsp of freshly ground black pepper
- 1 tsp of poultry seasonings
Add 1 cup of chicken broth to medium skillet on medium high heat. If using pan drippings, stir these into broth and whisk together until fully incorporated. Add white wine and bring to a simmer. Let simmer for about 2 minutes. Meanwhile, mix flour with remaining ¼ cup of chicken broth until it is smooth and no lumps remain. Pour slowly into skillet and stir together. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Add pepper and poultry seasonings and let simmer 2-3 minutes, whisking occasionally.
This easy chicken broth gravy is the perfect remedy to leftover chicken or a rotisserie chicken from the deli. It also makes the perfect topping for your herb-roasted chicken crepes! Roll the meat up in crepes and top with hot gravy and you've got an unforgettable meal.
