La Creperie de Josselin Paris, France

by Joyce McKenzie
(Chapel Hill, NC, USA)

“Where's the best place for crepes in Paris?” Having recently lived as an American in Paris for three years, my visiting friends from the US asked this question frequently. Believe it or not, it is an urban legend that there are creperies on every Paris street corner.

But great ones do exist though somewhat off the beaten path. My favorite is La Crêperie de Josselin. Excellent crepes, brisk service, good prices, fun atmosphere - always crowded and with a line out the door. When you enter you know you are in a special place with the swirl of activity, a lively crowd, and a view of the bustling kitchen. Keep in mind – cash only, no reservations, tight tables, and not much English is spoken. But this is all what makes it a great Parisian experience. It is a favorite of locals too which makes this a must-do in my personal collection of hidden Paris. Go early and you may avoid the crowds – the French get up late!

La Crêperie de Josselin
67, rue du Montparnasse
75014 Paris, France
Phone: 01-43-20-93-50
Neighborhood: Montparnasse (14th arrondissement)

Don't take crepe guemenee NEW
by: Anonymous

Very crowdy and a waiting queue - we thought this must be good. But I did a mistake because of my bad French. I took the crepe guemenee one of the more expensive specials. Be careful this is a crepe with cold chitterling sausage - awful taste or maybe my tongue wasn't prepared for such an experiment.

Ooh la la!

What a great description; you truly transported us to Paris! I love those little hidden places that only the locals know about. Those have been some of my favorite culinary adventures.

And now, thanks to you, I have yet another reason to go back to Paris—to sample the delights of La Creperie de Josselin.
