Recipe Caramel Sauce for Crepes

Caramel Sauce Over Banana and Walnut Crepes

Our recipe for caramel sauce is an easy dessert recipe that makes a great finish for crepes.

It's delicious over your favorite fruit-filled crepes such as our Banana Walnut Crepes, but we also recommend it as a topping for warm dessert or chocolate crepes.

And when you add ice cream, ooh la la!

Ingredients:

  • 4 tbsp of butter
  • ¼ cup of light brown sugar
  • ¼ cup of dark brown sugar
  • ½ cup of heavy cream
  • ½ tbsp of vanilla extract

Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat. Add sugar, stirring together. Let simmer, stirring frequently, for one minute. Add cream and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, continuing to stir, for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Serve warm over crepes immediately, or refrigerate for later use.
