Strawberry Crepes with Whipped Cream and Strawberry Sauce
Whip up these classic strawberry crepes in just minutes using fresh strawberries and cream. For a lasting impression, serve them on a white plate with a drizzle of strawberry sauce in the corner. And don't forget the garnish on top! This recipe is certain to become one of your most favorite strawberry dessert recipes.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of strawberries, washed and hulled
- 1 cup of water
- 1 cup of sugar, divided
- 1 tbsp of lemon juice
- 1 pint of whipping cream
- 4 dessert crepes
- Strawberry sauce
Slice strawberries. Mix ¾ cup of the sugar, water and lemon juice together until sugar dissolves. Pour over sliced berries and refrigerate for at least four hours. Stir at least twice to distribute juices. Note: For this step, you may substitute frozen, sweetened strawberries that have been drained and thawed.
Whip cream with the remaining ¼ cup of the sugar. For one serving, spread ½ cup of the whipped cream on the first crepe as pictured. Top with sliced strawberries. Next, fold crepe in half, and then in quarters.
Drizzle with strawberry sauce and then top with a dollop of whipped cream. Garnish with fresh strawberry. Repeat procedure for three more servings. Serve immediately.
Yield: 4 servings (1 crepe each)
