This silky sauce is a perfect topping for your sweet crepes.

It's also delicious over grilled banana crepes, fresh peach recipes for crepes or our sweet potato crepes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • ½ cup of half-and-half
  • 4 tbsp of unsalted butter butter
  • ½ cup of pecan pieces, toasted
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • ½ tsp of vanilla extract

In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine brown sugar, salt and butter. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat, and gradually stir in half and half. Cook for an additional minute, continuing to stir. Remove from heat and stir in pecans and vanilla. Serve immediately.

Yield: ½ cups of sauce
